"High Ground on Easy Red" by James Dietz
On June 6, 1944, elements of the 1st Infantry Division and the U.S. Army Rangers landed on the Easy Red Sector of Omaha Beach. After securing the beachhead, the men of the U.S. 1st Army consolidated and reorganized for the movement inland into France while constantly deepening the beachhead for additional supplies and troops.
