502nd PIR, 101st Airborne Division's bayonet charge in Carentan on
June 11, 1944. Led by Congressional Medal of Honor recipient Lt.
Colonel Robert Cole, the 502nd fixed bayonets and charged the enemy
position held by the German 6th Parachute Regiment.
