Tiger Team Secures Area Along MSR Jackson in Iraq
The US-led coalition forces defeated Saddam Hussein's Iraqi Army in Operation
Iraqi Freedom in May 2003. During the war and in the months following paramilitary
resistance fighters began attacking convoys with improvised explosive devices,
sniper fire, and rocket propelled grenades. In this urban guerilla scenario,
truck drivers became front line troops once again. Tiger teams became a
successful deterrent to Iraqi attacks and kept the convoys moving despite all
obstacles.
